Our story began in 2021 at the NYSC camp in Bayelsa. Like every other corps member, we were thrown into the whirlwind of drills, lectures, and adjusting to camp life. At first, we were just friends, casually crossing paths amid the daily chaos. Then came the cultural event. I needed to learn a traditional dance, and he—confident, patient, and a surprisingly good dancer—became my teacher. What started as simple dance lessons soon turned into something more. With every step, every shared laugh over my missteps, and every practice session, we grew closer. He didn’t just teach me how to dance—he made me feel comfortable, confident, and seen. Somewhere between the rhythm of the drums and the warmth of his encouragement, I realized our connection was different. And from that moment on, our friendship turned into something deeper. That dance brought us together, and ever since, we’ve been moving through life hand in hand, step by step, in perfect sync.
